536 Foundation is intended to be a charitable incorporated organisation regulated by the Charity Commission for England and Wales (registration number pending application). The Foundation's purpose will be: "To advance the arts for the public benefit by promoting appreciation of, and education in, fine art through exhibitions, publications, and public programmes.” The Foundation will own two collections of contemporary art which are currently being developed.
